Westminster International University in Tashkent has been named one of five Global Public Health Education Centres of Excellence within the CAREC Programme. This recognition by the Asian Development Bank and the Human Resources for Health Sub-Working Group highlights WIUT’s strength in public health education, research capacity, and its commitment to advancing health systems in Uzbekistan and the wider region.
As a Centre of Excellence, WIUT will contribute to regional cooperation by developing innovative curricula, supporting harmonisation of education standards, and leading joint research and training initiatives with CAREC partners and organisations such as the WHO, GIZ, and leading universities. This milestone affirms WIUT’s growing role as a regional leader in public health and its dedication to shaping a healthier and more resilient future.
