STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) offers students the opportunity of a Student Exchange Programme at the University of Westminster in London.

For the Academic Year 2024/25, the following courses are available for student exchange:

Information:

Tuition Fees:
Students who participate on the Student Exchange Programme at the University of Westminster do not pay additional tuition fees but they need to complete the payment of WIUT tuition fees prior leaving for the UK.
Living expenses:
Students have to pay for their living expenses in the UK (visa, accommodation, transportation, living expenses, etc.).
Estimated living expenses in London:
Business Management exchange (1 semester): approx. USD 15,000
Business Information Systems exchange (2 semesters): approx. USD 20,000
Timeline:
Semester 1: WIUT International Studies team will send an email with all information along with the application form.
Semester 2: WIUT International Studies team will send an email on an Information Session on Student Exchange to UoW.
Criteria for nomination
To be considered for nomination, you must be a current Level 4 WIUT student attending the relevant course.
- Maintain academic profile of an overall 60% and above.
(for University scholarship-funded students, maintain academic profile of an overall 70% and above)
- no record of academic offences.
- no record of disciplinary offences.
- no condoned passes.
- no referrals/deferrals.
- no retriever.

Step 1: Submit an application

Upon receiving an email from International Studies team, If you are interested, please submit the UoW-WIUT Student Exchange Application Form.

Deadline to submit the form:

For September (Semester 1) start: 4 March 2024 (deadline extended)

For January (Semester 2) start: not applicable at this stage

Step 2: Selection of nominees

Step 3: Nominee to complete online application

Step 4: Acceptance Letter, UK visa application and student accommodation arrangement

The Exchange program gave me an opportunity to understand what an overall international study environment is about. I experienced living abroad, gained knowledge of business management with marketing, and studied with the most talented teachers and students with totally different mindsets and ideas. Moreover, it was enjoyable for me to get to know about the diversity of people, cultures, places, and opportunities in the UK. For those who want to dive into the atmosphere of quality British education and high standards of big city life, I advise you not to be scared to express your ideas and show your abilities. Make friends and be open-minded to explore education abroad and the UK itself!

The exchange program was a fantastic experience, with one of the best parts being unique teaching methods. It wasn't just about coding; it taught us how to solve problems and collaborate as a team. The program was flexible, which helped us prepare for future challenges in our careers: gave space to come up with our own ideas and work on real-life projects. Being in London, a global hub for innovation, gave me the chance to attend events in my area of interest and connect with industry professionals. It was an educational journey that deepened my passion for my field and inspired my future career goals. The biggest highlight of this program was making so many international friends coming from diverse backgrounds. Exploring London with them and making memories together made this journey extra special.

What I enjoyed most about the Student Exchange Programme was the experience of an entirely new way of living and studying. I learned a lot from my tutors at the University of Westminster, met many new friends from all over the world and got experience that will help me in my postgraduate studies and future career.

As I am interested in business and finance, the Student Exchange Programme offered me the opportunity to learn a lot about the financial structure of British and European companies and the way the London Stock Exchange, one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world, operates. I particularly enjoyed living in London for a few months as it is a city that brings together people from different countries, cultures and history. I was able to visit many historical places and expand my worldview.
If you are thinking about going on exchange, London is a city of opportunities. There is a lot to explore, a lot to learn and you will definitely find something that will be useful to you.
