Tashkent International Model United Nations Conference 2023.
On December 2, 2023, Tashkent International Model United Nations Conference (TIMUN) 2023 marked a triumphant culmination of diplomatic engagement, global awareness, and youth empowerment. Hosted by the TIMUN Society at Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT), the event attracted nearly 600 participants, including delegates from Tashkent, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and all 12 regions of Uzbekistan. Impressively, around 80 delegates from 14 nations across Europe, North America, Africa, Central and South Asia showcased a remarkable dedication to fostering intercultural understanding.
The conference garnered support from influential entities, including UN Agencies such as UN Women, United Nations Population Fund, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the UN Regional Coordinator's Office in Uzbekistan. Key public and private sectors, including the Youth Affairs Agency of Uzbekistan and Artel Electronics, actively participated, underscoring their commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

WIUT formally joins forces with UN in Uzbekistan for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
For a more sustainable Uzbekistan, WIUT and UN in Uzbekistan signed a momentous Joint Declaration of Intent. The declaration solidifies the existing co-operation between the two organisations and it also shows the way of partnership between the UN and the academic sector of Uzbekistan for creating a more sustainable and equitable future for the country where no citizen is left behind. By combining their expertise, resources, and networks, WIUT and UN Uzbekistan will work together on selected sustainable development initiatives that will help shape the future of Uzbekistan and will foster sustainable development by promoting social justice.
