On 30 September, we welcomed Dr Ceren Güven Güres, Head of the UN Women Central Asia Liaison Office, to Westminster International University in Tashkent. This week, our SDG Course turned the spotlight on SDG 5: Gender Equality.
Dr Güven Güres took our students through what SDG 5 means in practice, where Uzbekistan stands today, the progress made so far, and, most importantly, how young people can contribute to creating meaningful change.
The session continued with an open Q&A, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with one of the leading voices on gender equality in the region.
This is exactly what Our Sustainable Future Together is about: connecting students with experts working on real-world challenges and turning global goals into meaningful conversations.
A huge thank you to Dr Ceren Güven Güres and the UN Women team for joining us and for returning to our Course!
