Unlocking Opportunities: Career Development Centre's Month of Field Trips and Guest Lectures

As part of its commitment to providing a holistic and enriching educational experience, the WIUT Career Development Centre proudly presents the Month of Field Trips and Guest Lectures.

This program is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, offering students invaluable insights into various industries and fostering connections with professionals.

-Nestlé YOUth Day: WIUT students engaged in an office tour and held direct interactions with employees for a firsthand experience.

-Field Trip to TBC Bank | Payme: Students had an immersive dive into data analytics, expert insights, and personal improvement quizzes.

-Field Trip to MTO Gas Chemical Factory: This was an introduction to the factory model, highlighting functions, products, and manufacturing schemes.

-KPMG Guest Talk: Representatives shared career development experiences, recruitment processes, and insights into KPMG's working atmosphere.

-Guest Talk with Khilola Suleymanova: Chief Happiness Officer of UzCard on "Building a Strong and Comprehensive Resume."

-Toyota Uzbekistan Guest Talk: Insightful presentation on the "Japanese approach to business management."

-Guest Talk with American Councils for International Education: coordinator provided with an informative presentation on Young Professional Internships Program.

-Guest Talk with Boston Consulting Group: students gained valuable insights into the world of consulting and had the chance to connect with BCG professionals.

WIUT and UoW Alumni Engagement Stories

WIUT continues its innovative project - the University “Connecting Leaders” breakfast series held at Bon! Cafe. Bakhrom Mirkasimov and UoW representatives, including Prof. Peter Bonfield met with successful alumni and employers. The business breakfast serves as a productive platform for representatives from such leading brands as Artel, Bon!, Mali, Dentons, Korzinka, Ipak Yuli Bank and Tass Vision.

The leadership of WIUT and UoW visited several alumni who represent different industries. The insightful trip commenced with a visit to Toshkent Gullari, where Mukhrim Abdulazizov, the current CEO, recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of this family business. Then the delegation met with Doniyor Rasulov, PR Manager of Korzinka.uz, who provided a comprehensive overview of the company's daily store operations and its future plans. Finally the team went to the Olivia factory, where Ziyodulla Artikhodjaev, CEO and Co-owner, graciously showcased the manufacturing processes of the factory.

Widening Access to Higher Education: Inclusive University working group meeting

A session of the Working Group, dedicated to priority initiatives to support inclusion and presentation of the first draft of Inclusive Higher Education Good Practice Guide, was held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations (MHESI) of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The group, which includes key stakeholders from the MHESI, University Rectors, the British Council in Uzbekistan, and the University of Westminster, delved into key focus areas such as expanding educational opportunities for girls and women, creating provisions for individuals from low-income backgrounds, and supporting people with disabilities.

“Aspiring Leaders": Preparing Global Business Leaders in Uzbekistan

Between the 21st and 22nd November, Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) and the University of Westminster (UoW) conducted an international executive course entitled "Aspiring Leaders." This course focused on leadership and effective team management practices using case studies, including team development, communication styles, and the development of organizational culture for senior managers and executives from local and international companies.

Leading the course were Emeritus Professor Dr. Susan Laing from UoW, Senior Lecturer Dr. Athar Hameed Butt from WIUT, and Mr. Alisher Ismailov, Course Leader for Business Management at WIUT.

WIUT goes to the Falling Walls Lab Summit 2023 Germany

Our collaboration with the Falling Walls Lab takes another stride as our student Jasurbek Ibragimov, the winner of Falling Walls Lab Tashkent 2023, seizes the incredible opportunity to participate in the Falling Walls Lab Summit 2023 in Berlin, Germany. The Falling Walls Science Summit, a distinguished three-day event, brings together global experts from diverse disciplines.

During this gathering, innoWIUT Entrepreneur's Lab enhances potential collaborations with stakeholders, including local German universities, Science Startups and SAP’s Data Space. This visit marks a significant milestone in the relationship between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Uzbekistan, opening avenues for extensive cooperation in education and innovation.

The WIUT Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for dedicated students to provide a positive image of the University to prospective students. Along with being the “face” of WIUT, student ambassadors focus on increasing awareness of WIUT among those who are not familiar with this University.

Eco Club contributes towards a Green Campus Initiative: A Tree Planting Event

In a dedicated effort towards sustainability and environmental consciousness, Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) proudly planted 28 trees on its grounds. The diverse selection includes 2 oaks, 20 boxwoods, 2 plane trees, 2 sirens, 1 albina decorative tree, and 1 catalpa tree.

This eco-friendly initiative was made possible with the active involvement of WIUT's Eco Club, joining hands with our esteemed staff and Rector.

The Parental Congress event organised at Westminster International University in Tashkent was an opportunity for parents to gain insights into their children's educational journey and the resources available to support their growth. Parental Congress

Dear parents!

We would like to invite you to the Parental Congress on 30th October, 2023 at 15:00. The event will feature presentations from faculty leaders, the Career Center, and Student Support services team. You will receive an informative presentation about the facilities of the University, employment opportunities and academic support provided by student support staff.

Only parents and guardians of students from Foundation and Undergraduate students can participate in the event. We will contact all registered participants with information about the event. The event mainly will be held in Uzbek language.
