The "Distinguished Alumni Award" is a new tradition by #WIUT Alumni Association that celebrates and recognises the significant contribution of our distinguished alumni to the University, their community and to the Uzbekistan society as a whole. These alumni exemplify the very best of WIUT's values and spirit.
During our annual Alumni Reunion held in November, our Rector, Bakhrom Mirkasimov announced the first "Distinguished Alumni Award" to Sardor Kariev (Class of 2007). Mr. Kariev stood out for his significant contribution to the Uzbek pharmaceutical industry and his efforts to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 in Uzbekistan. In 2005, Sardor started his career as a Director General at JURABEK LABORATORIES. Since February 2019, Sardor Kariev is Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He is a source of pride and inspiration for us all at WIUT.
