Academic Counselling is a crucial element in supporting you as a student with your academic progress and excellence, and your development into a self-regulated learner. Academic counselling services provide personalized and consistent academic advice and support over your life journey from induction on the course to completion of studies.
How can academic counselor help you?
Academic counselor provides you with the following support:
Academic advice and support which enables you to achieve your full academic potential
Assisting you in setting academic goals and plans for the future
Observing your academic progress and engagement to make sure you make the most out of your University studies
Pastoral support and referral to appropriate academic and personal support services in times when you signpost personal difficulties which may affect your academic progress
Guiding you through transition into Higher Education and higher levels of study as well as introducing you to the culture of the University
Who is your academic counselor?
Upon enrolment on a course, you are allocated an Academic Counsellor, a member of academic staff from within the subject discipline of your course of study and, where possible, remain attached to this member of staff throughout your academic journey. To check who your counselor is, you will need to:
Login to your WIUT SRS account
Find and click on the Academic counselling record tab
Your academic counselor’s name will be at the top left corner, where it says ‘Academic counselor’.
You may book an appointment with your academic counselor via email by finding his name in the address book.
