WIUT welcomes new First Deputy Rector

The University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michael Clarke as the First Deputy Rector (Academic) at Westminster International University in Tashkent. His role will provide support and management experience on the development of the capability of the University to ensure WIUT is delivering all its services to a standard that is globally recognised.
Dr. Clarke has more recently served as a Principal Dean for City College (Qatar), where he has successfully secured a University partnership with Ulster University and obtained institutional and programme accreditation for a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Dr. Clarke has more than 20 years of leadership experience in Higher Education sector, including the positions of Provider Head and Dean of Madinah College of Technology, Principal and Rector at Global College Malta, Head of the School of Management & Languages at Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus, and Dean of Majan University College. The majority of this experience has been in strategic development and building the infrastructure and capacity for the above Universities and Colleges to grow. This experience has been based upon business acumen and a high knowledge and experience in academia.
He has been involved in creating over 40 new degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and has validated and established several UK Universities both overseas and in the UK. His work in establishing Higher Education in Oldham has received national recognition from the Right Honourable Gordon Brown who served as the Former UK Prime Minister.
Dr. Clarke's academic and professional qualifications include an Honours Degree in Business Studies (specialising in Finance and Accounting) from Ulster University. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Stirling, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from Buckingham Chilterns University, a Certificate in E-Tutoring from Ulster University and a Doctorate of Business Administration (specialising in Higher Education Management) from the University of Bath.
