Here’s another proudest moment for WIUT!

On 16th of February 2019, final year bachelor (Level 6) Economics with Finance students participated in local final competition CFA (Chartered Financial Analysts) Institute Research Challenge held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Among the students are Sardor Butunboev, Aziza Kuchimova, Bekhzod Odilov, Alisher Babaev and Mirkamol Tulyaganov.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual, global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis.

WIUT students competed with such universities as International School of Economics in Kazakhstan, Kazakh-British Technical University, Nazarbayev University and KIMEP University. This is the second time our university participates in this competition and the first time it takes such high place.

During the competition, students work in teams to research and analyze a publicly traded company and then write a research report on their assigned company with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation. Each Research Challenge season leverages the efforts of over 140 CFA member societies, 3,500 member volunteers, and more than 5,000 students from over 1,000 universities. We appreciate endless support and supervision of team of teachers led by Omonjon Ganiev, Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance and external advisor Timur Mirzaev, CFA charterholder.
