Our strategic research objectives are to become the leading provider of research and high level consultancy in Uzbekistan and the Central Asia region by combining international experience and local expertise. By achieving and sustaining international levels of excellence in most research areas, the university aims to consolidate and improve this position as a leading modern university with a reputation for research.

Main areas for research lie in the following niches:

• Education reform/development/management of Institutions in Transition (building on our experience as a pioneering institution and TEMPUS)
• Economics – modelling, global investment trends, Regional Economic Analysis
• Finance – International Accounting standards, Corporate finance, management accounting
• Business – Advertising, Branding, Franchising, HRM/Employee engagement, Corporate Governance, Transition Marketing, Accounting standards and application
• Business Information Systems – data mining and decision support, database management, web applications development, intelligent systems
• Commercial Law – Arbitration, public law, intellectual property law, EU law.

We aim to encourage collaboration, regionally, nationally and internationally and effective partnerships with other research institutions, research agencies, funding bodies/sponsors and benefactors, as well as to ensure that the fruits of the University’s research activities are exploited and disseminated for the benefit of society and the economy.
