British Council

British Council Uzbekistan was established in 1996 to create learning and development opportunities for people in Uzbekistan by providing access to information, ideas and expertise from the UK and around the world. It arranges and administers IETLS exams in Uzbekistan. Since foundation of WIUT, it has become one of the main partners of the university. During bilateral cooperation, a number of joint projects were organized, including “Young Entreprenuers Training Course”, “Savitsky Museum Multimedia Project”, “WIUT’s Academic Conferences of 2006 and 2007?, “Annual training courses for IELTS tutors” and other literature and English language related projects and events. WIUT English teachers also act as consultants and trainers on a variety of British Council led ELT and testing projects.

From 2011 South African international integrated energy and chemical company SASOL established partnership with WIUT to provide scholarship opportunities for Pre-University and partly for Foundation course applicants and students. Scholarships cover tuition fee plus monthly allowance for learning materials and the cost of meals and travel.
