IELTS_200x200_animated1.gifIELTS is the International Language System. It is designed to assess the ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS meets the highest international standards of language assessment and covers the four language skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking.

IELTS is available in two formats – Academic and General Training. Full details and example papers are available on the IELTS website: www.ielts.org.

The Academic Module assesses whether a candidate is ready to study or train in the medium of English at undergraduate or postgraduate level.  The General Training Module emphasises basic survival skills and is suitable for candidates who are going to English speaking countries to undertake training not at degree level or for immigration purposes.  IELTS is recognised by universities and employers in many countries.
