Course Outcomes

By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:

  • understand theoretical frameworks and their practical application
  • analyse economic theories, concepts and problems
  • demonstrate knowledge of the core functional areas of Economics
  • access, integrate, analyse, generate and evaluate qualitative and quantitative information for effective use
  • communicate effectively in an appropriate medium and style
  • manage their time effectively
  • manage their personal development
  • work effectively as a member of a team
  • show evidence of an international perspective on the operational and strategic position of organisations both in the private and public sector
  • demonstrate an understanding of the importance of personal, corporate and professional responsibility
  • critically evaluate economic models and  use these to formulate business proposals

Course Structure

There are 24 modules 16 core and 6 optional plus a dissertation.  The optional modules enable students to study one or more of the following; finance, marketing, human resources, information management or law.
