PROJECT

You will be required to undertake a project to be submitted in the form of a report at the end of the course. The project will be of an approximate length of 10000 words. There will be a series of lectures on research methodology. You will be advised about the nature of the project and its aims and assessment criteria during the first semester of study.

The project is a very important part of the study programme on the course. Its aims and content and the manner of execution reflect the integrative nature of projects at master level. This is a common practice on most taught postgraduate study programmes in the world. In addition to applying theories studied in the different modules, you will be able to undertake an intensive study of an area of your choice. It is also envisaged that the different types of projects chosen will be of practical relevance for you when you start working at a corporation or doing your own business.

The purpose of the project is to test the analytical skills, motivation, the ability to organise a systematic study of a theme, time management and presentation reports. The project is expected to reflect both a high order of independence in thinking and proficiency of execution of an academic task.

Your project will be supervised by MA Course Leader Rowan Wagner who has been teaching in this area for 12 years.

On completion of the project, you will be able to:

  • Critically apply appropriate methodology of research to the analysis of business and economic problems.
  • Investigate systematically and analyse academically alternative approaches.
  • Critically analyse your research data, derive appropriate conclusions and offer viable recommendation for strategic decision policy making.
    • Work independently, conduct clearly rationalised research investigation and present research findings in a professional manner.
