Research for sustainable development
Westminster International University in Tashkent
Thursday 14th May 2009
Research and development (R&D) plays a critical role in ensuring the growth of a modern economy. At the same time for that growth to be sustainable, there is a need for societies to understand better the challenges facing them and develop appropriate evidence based policies. However the role of research in promoting sustainable development, particularly in transition societies, is an area that calls for further enquiry in order for business, higher education, government and international organizations to realize its full benefits.
