WIUT organizes a number of conferences, most prominently the annual conference held in May of each year. In the past, these conferences have addressed the following issues:2005 - Business at the Heart of Central Asia: Critical Issues of Competition and Competitiveness2006 - Higher Education Management: International Trends and Local Sustainability2007 - University - Business Collaboration: Models for Sustainable Development in Transition Economies

2008 - Towards a Knowledge Economy in Central Asia

2009- Research for Sustainable Development

2010 - “Sustainable development, environment and water resources management in Central Asia”

These annual conferences are an important forum for bringing together the academic and business world to engage with each other. These conferences have received strong support from the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, international educational agencies such as British Council and the EU TEMPUS project which have been key sponsors, as well as international organisations such as UNDP and UNESCO and business sponsorship from Nestlē and Coscom.
The conferences provide an opportunity for international and local scholars to engage with key issues facing the country, and include a plenary session with keynote speakers and a range of panels addressing specific issues, in three languages - Uzbek, English and Russian.
