SAIPRO Information and Rating Agency held a special event in WIUT to award 3 WIUT students who volunteered at the 5th International Forum on Investment & Finance during April 4-8, 2012.

Izzat Shamsiev, Bokijon Zakirov and Yuliya Semeneeva were rewarded with special prizes for their work during the event. After the awarding ceremony company representatives made a short presentation of SAIPRO itself, including job vacancies and internship opportunities for potential candidates among WIUT students.

SAIPRO Information&Rating Agency is the owner of BVV newspaper, “Sug’urta” - Insurance magazine, Business Report TV programme, uzreport.com, uzjobs.com, and uzrating.com. It has also been providing a big range of consulting services since 1999, including:

• Marketing research and consulting in financial sector;
• Independent rating of reliability of financial organisations;
• Consulting on job search, hiring personnel and its effective management;
• Development and maintainance of web-projects.

On April 27, 2012 Westminster International University in Tashkent held “Master’s Day” dedicated to a new postgraduate course Master in International Commercial Law (LLM). Agenda of “Master’s Day” included speeches, presentations, intellectual games and tour through the university.

The event was opened by Rowan Wagner (MA IBM course leader), who introduced the guests with the plan for the day. After that, course leader of Commercial Law Mansur Kamalov made a short presentation about the new LLM course, which is planned to start in January 2013. He informed the listeners on the nature of the new Master’s course, application process, admission requirements etc.

Following that Mukhammadfoik Bakhadirov (MA IBM alumnus) made a presentation analyzing why potential students should choose this program and what factors they should consider in order to make correct and informed decision and be accepted to the course. Concluding his presentation, Mukhammadfoik shared his thoughts on getting the maximum benefit from studying Master’s in WIUT based on his own experience as a postgraduate student of the university.

In order to add fun to the event and unload the visitors, Mamurjon Rakhimov (Seniour lecturer on Marketing), gave his presentation including various intellectual games involving video shows with direct participation from guests. Active participants were given prizes.

Rowan Wagner summed up the presentations and answered the questions of the guests. Then the participants made a tour through the university campus.

In the end, all gathered at the 3rd floor for coffee break . In an informal setting with faculty members and staff, participants were able to continue discussion, ask further questions and find out more about MA IBM and the new Postgraduate course: Master in International Commercial Law.

On April 26, Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) successfully hosted traditional Career Day. The event was organized by WIUT Career Centre with the sponsorship of DataSite Technology, Newmax, and Arabboy companies. Information partners were UzReport Information Agency, UzJobs.com recruiting portal and Biznes Vestnik Vostoka newspaper.

The main objective of the event was to help students and graduates of the University to find jobs and assist companies in the selection of promising young professionals.

The guest had a chance to witness high level of knowledge of students during the presentation of the finalists of the Smart Business Solutions research competition. As a result, many graduates have received invitations to interviews with employers, and a number of companies interested in the preparation of highly skilled labor training, once again strengthened the view that cooperation with the University is profitable and useful.

Westminster International University in Tashkent will open its doors to all prospective students, their parents and other interested parties on April 20, from 10am to 4pm.

The visitors will have an opportunity to take part in a guided tour of WIUT campus, its learning resource and sports centre. The tours will be run by WIUT students. So, prospective students will be able to ask some of their questions directly from the students. Moreover,  staff will make presentations and answer all questions regarding WIUT.

On April 13, WIUT students had the opportunity to attend a lecture and watch a documentary film on how Uzbekistan has achieved its Independence. The film is named “On the Threshold of Independence or the Last Agony of the Soviets” (Mustaqillik arafasida yoki sho’rolarning so’nggi talvasasi) and covered 1989, 1990 and 1991 - the most hard and critical years before the Independence.

The lecture was conducted by Shadmanov Turdiboy Ruziboyevich, a WIUT Lyceum teacher and one of the leading experts on history and politology. He is also veteran of Afghan war in 1980’s.

The lecture and film caused a great interest among students as the event went beyond its scheduled time with questions and answers session.
